day 23

Today we did not have any class due as we had a leadership course today which was quite fun actually. Before the event I was quite reluctant to go as I did not like these high elements mainly because I did not like the heights as well as lacking of stamina. First we went to assemble at the pavilion at the park beside our campus for some bonding games. We started to draw our flag and make our group costume for the bonding activities; as usual xanier became the leader of the group whereby she led us on to the stage for a small performance. After the performance we headed to the high elements area our first element was rock climbing. Looking around me I can see everyone participating in the games but I felt really reluctant to try but after some struggling I decided to put myself to the test. As got ready and went up the wall the feeling was different. Adrenaline was pumping as I went higher but my strength and energy was depleting thus I had no choice but to end my struggle at the wall. Although I did not climb as high as the others I felt that I had done my best to climb and at least tried. After lunch we gathered at the same place and continue our leadership activities , first we had a trust game where it was called free fall in Singapore where by one person is being tied on top and he/she will be pushed down and the group members have to form a net to break the persons fall. We ended our day by finishing our last high elements and a group photo.

My reflection

Today I learnt that trust is an important thing, for example at trust element game if we are unable to trust our team member’s one would be scared and have second thoughts about falling down. However if u trust our teammates to break your fall you would be less scared and more likely to have a successful fall. Furthermore being in a foreign country the only people we can trust is yourself and our friends thus trust is an important factor in friendship.
